I remember having one of these as a kid and throwing it away because I wasn’t any good at it…
Also, Twitter is apparently not working for me today.. not sure what’s up with that…
I hope I can tweet again soon!!

Yes, I also had one! I broke it of the same reason you throw yours away… The only thing I could draw was a little house.
I wonder how some people can have so much talent (and time) to draw such artworks on it!
At least you were able to draw a house….all I could do was stairs….
haha! I remember drawing both houses AND stairs… and sometimes a tree. thats about it.
Oh look, Miss “I wasn’t any good at it but I could draw stars, houses AND trees”…
My stars always looked like anything BUT stars!
Wow i had no idea that you could do this with
a etch a sketch. If i had known, maybe i would
of kept mine.
draw me on there Andi then upload the pic!
I always found that with the Etch-A-Sketch, personal perspective and the right attitude made all the difference. For example, it’s not that I wasn’t any good at making pictures like these, but rather, I was a master at making random straight lines and stairsteps.
again with the stairs! LOL did we all do that??
Hmm yep…. I did stairs…and my name..and a house… i played around with it a lot, just don’t remember everything I drew
I remember them but I never had or wanted one of my own. I had other art stuff. My daughter never wanted one of those, either. She also liked other kinds of art things to work with.
How on earth did they manage to sell any of this rubbish thing? Another game I hated with a a passion was Scalextric, with me being the car putter back for my brother. I think I once completed one whole lap once without it flying through the air. Every race was over by the first bend.
Sounds interesting.. I’ve never heard of that game!
Must be UK-only and the rest of the world got lucky. http://www.scalextric.com/
It wasn’t UK only. Trust me, my childhood is scarred from those things too.
I never had one myself, but I remember school friends who had one, and I had a go. Straight lines were OK, but diagonals and curves… well let’s just say it ended up a complete mess! I wonder what the secret is….
